For like five days.

Partially because he hasn't gotten an answer back because he just dropped it off because human interaction is really, really hard; partially because oh jesus christ that's a text message how does he properly answer that.]

they let me take online tests for my finals. but they said i have to bring it in sooner next time...

[he considers sending a follow-up text. maybe the first didn't go through? maybe Jacuzzi doesn't remember his name, or realize Ravi is short for Ravindra? MAYBE HE'S JUST STRAIGHT-OUT IGNORING HIM??]

[he doesn't send a follow-up text. he keeps coming back to the idea, getting anxious over it, and procrastinating until he forgets about it for a while.]

[when he finally DOES get a response, it's both a surprise and a relief. he'd pretty much resigned himself to not getting a reply but kept stressing about how to follow up on it... now that is no longer an issue!]

It worked out then? I'm glad to hear it.

[honestly though, he's been moping for the past uhhh month or so, feels like everyone hates him, two of his three friends have not been on speaking terms with him since he got Proud killed--and one of those is the one that lives with him. Basically, he's feeling incredibly lonely, and Jacuzzi is someone to talk to that he's not also paralyzingly intimidated by the thought of contacting.]

[problem: nothing to talk about??]

[solution: fuck it, he just wants human interaction and he will take what he can get.]

[Oh good, he's not intimidating! Just a pain to deal with.

As it is, it's a good day to contact him. No class tomorrow, roommate is always out all weekend, and a sufficient amount of time has passed since Kara's visit that he is nearly (emphasis on nearly) recovered to being a passably capable human again.

However, the moment Ravi texts him, Jacuzzi's mind flashes through all the things that he could have done wrong, all the ways that Ravi texting him could be a bad thing, every single little mistake he's made. What if the school called him about the note? What if they found out the note was a lie and the cops got involved? (... Well the cops are already involved if Kotetsu counts but does he count?)

What if he made plans and forgot them?

Jacuzzi has every reason not to pick up his phone. But it's Ravi. Ravi's been absurdly helpful. He's made the list of "people Jacuzzi will pick up the phone for even if he's in the middle of a panic attack." It's a very short list. There's only four people. His parents don't make the cut. But Ravi is not his parents, so he texts back in a timely manner:]

I've been studying for midte [No that seems unwelcoming like he doesn't have time. He has time.]

School is really bu [No that's whiny. Crap.]

Did I do something wro [No stop.]

[Neither Dian was exactly sure how to approach the issue. As late to the punch as they were on so many things, they know how sensitive Jacuzzi is. He might jump to the wrong conclusion if they phrase this the wrong way. They spend a bit of the initial car ride to the hospital just spitballing ideas. Eventually, they decide to go with what feels natural.]

[It had been about 16 hours since Isaac had made his decision. Staying around Miria was making her unhappy. Miria's happiness was the most important thing in the world, and he was ruining it with both his presence and his actions. The only thing to do was to leave. Maybe then she'd experience the joy she deserved.

But before long he was already getting antsy. What was she doing now? Was she feeling better? They were usually working in the shop at this point, but he couldn't go back there . Furthermore, what about Jacuzzi and Rakka? Were they keeping Miria entertained? Were they happy?

He faltered multiple times when he had tried to send a text. After about an hour, he finally managed to send something coherent.]

Hey.

[16 hours is too damn long. Way too damn long. It's too quiet, too tense, without both Isaac and Miria hanging around. And Jacuzzi's been worried out of his mind, for Miria's mental state, for Isaac's physical state, for the state of their marriage because he absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt knows that taking these two apart for any period of time is not going to be in their best interests. He half doesn't want to interfere, half feels like he has to because--

They made each other happy. Anybody with eyes could see that.]

[It already hurts. He can almost hear Jacuzzi's fear when the words pop up on the screen. He's scum. Utter complete trash for making Jacuzzi feel this way.]

[Things in the Dian household were less than great following the argument that resulted from Rakka's keys. To put it bluntly, everything sucked, and Rakka wasn't sure what to do about it.

Which is why the text comes so late in the night. She'd thought it over and this was her best idea.]

Mother's Day; text

[Isaac really really really shouldn't be texting Jacuzzi. He just knows something will happen, something that will drive forth the inner ALCATRAZ convict within.

And then Jacuzzi would die all over again. This time with no promise that he'd be reincarnated. Isaac couldn't let that happen. He had to make sure that Jacuzzi, Miria, Rakka, and everyone else were safe no matter what.

But... it was Mother's Day. Miria got really nervous and dreary on Mother's Day. It'd be best to check up. Just for a sec. To be sure everyone was looking out for her.]

[Jacuzzi is getting ready for finals. This is the most balls, since he should actually show up this semester and everything. Mother's Day just doesn't even occur to him, especially since he's out of a situation with a mother who'd already made it clear he was a huge disappointment.

[She sounds really tired. Which is weird because it's the middle of the day and he doesn't know if sleeping all day is a thing she normally does but it doesn't seem like it. He's on his way back from helping Isaac and Miria in the shop (he's going to help them until the day he dies). He's really, really cautious when he answers, nervous as to if she's sick or something and maybe he needs to stop and get something when he comes back.]

[Jacuzzi doesn't watch the news most of the time. His doctor said it's bad for him, honestly. The world is a strange and terrifying place. So when they text him, he blinks and smiles because it's his family! He loves family texts.]
